I shot this around 6:30am.Lighting
The morning light was softened from a light ground ice fog. The temps that morning were -20 degrees.Equipment
I used my old canon 20d and a 16-35 2.8 lens. Gitzo tripod.Inspiration
I love photographing lonley trees in a vast landscape. This case its like the tree had a little brother or something. Both standing there in the elements. I was just fortunate to be there when the light was right. I have photographed these two trees every kind of way and in every season, everything I was looking for came together in this one shot.Editing
I use Lightroom. It was pretty basic adjustments and sharpeneing. The capture was spot on so not a lot of processing to do which is the way I like it. I don't like to sit in front of a computer very long.In my camera bag
It all depends on what Im shooting. I don't like to take the kitchen sink every time. If its a landscape I'm shooting than I'll take my canon 5dmk2 and canon 6d and the 16-35 f4. 50mm 1.2 and 135 f2. A polarizer and several split ND filters and some solid screw type ND to lengthen exposures. Cable realease thats usually it. If wildlife I use the two same cameras with a 300mm f4 and a 600mm f4 IS. Gitzo with a wimberley head. Canon 600 exflash with extender. In my vest I usually carry the 135 f2 and the 16-35 f4 just in case.Feedback
The only advice I can offer is learn your camera so your not messing with knobs or buttons that you end up missing the shot. Try to get it right in capture. Shoot what your passionate about and shoot A LOT of it.
