Location
This photo was taken during the business trip to Switzerland, where unfortunately I had no time during the day for photography or side seeing. So only possibility was night photography. This Was taken close to Château de Chillon but the castle is behind my back.Time
This is night time, Autumn,Lighting
Only ambient lighting nothing taken with me.Equipment
Night shots do need to be taken from the tripod, but as I travel light I have no place to put my heavy tripod. That is why I try to use the string attached to my tripod mount or - as in this situation - small flexible tripod for few dollars - kind of "gorillapod" As you can see the lens was my 11-16mm and I shoot with Sony SLT-A77Inspiration
I love night photography and cold weather. This combined with very nice lighting conditions - where from right side there was a full moon and from the left street lights and some modeling lights for castle behind me. All this, combined with the wide lens gave a very nice wood pattern of the pier with view to the mountains - this was it.Editing
I was trying a lot of post- processing, and the best result for me was HDR (combined of 3 exposures) combined in PS with some simple tweakingIn my camera bag
I shoot with Sony SLT-A77 body and variety of lenses, but most used are Tokina 11-16mm F2.8, Minolta 50mm F.17 and Tamron 17-50mm F2.8. I use variety of lighting devices to produce my Light Painting photos - from simple torches, all possible improvised sources too LED stripes and flashes.Feedback
I usually shoot with long exposure, and manipulate with F and ISO, In this situation I wanted to have both depth of view, not too bright street lights and stars that will not start to "move"
