Beehive Geyser, Yellowstone National Park, WY.
This was my first trip to Yellowstone as a photographer (I went a couple times as a child) and overall it was a pretty overwhelming place to capture. This shot which I believe is one of my all time best images was sort of lucky. I was taking some shots up the hill from Beehive Geyser when I saw it start to erupt. My friend Dan ran down the path to get closer but I didn't want to risk missing it so I dropped my tripod where I was, made a quick meter of the water and started shooting. I was real lucky that the person in the shot stood up on the bench to get a better view. I later found out that Beehive erupts only once every 12 hours up to 3 days. Pretty lucky indeed!

It's easy to photograph a geyser. It's not easy to make a memorable photograph of a geyser...You have raised the bar!
