In September 2012, I had taken part in a ride from the Andes to the Amazon (for charity) in Peru and when we reached the halfway point, the following morning, I woke up to this sunrise, above the clouds, at 14000ft at Tres Cruces. For me this was a seminal moment. I was mesmerised by the colour and the sheer power of nature. I had never seen anything like this. Ever.
