This is a portrait of a bike mechanic at the community-social enterprise, Bike Works in East London. They recycle bikes, provide support to all walks of life and teach basic maintenance. The subject is standing in front of a wall of bicycle forks. Her expression is perfect (imo) i.e. it is calm, vaguely sardonic and this contrasts nicely with the vast, overwhelming (to most people), assortment of bike components. This is her office. It's also amazing how effective bribery with a box of chocolates actually is! Grateful for the opportunity.
