This is a picture of the Atacama Desert, Chile, taken in December 2011. I was blown away by how smooth the texture of the desert sand was. And the pristine, purity of colour. Jaw dropping (to me). And it also demonstrates (hopefully) the vastness (openness) of this amazing desert (and country). Truly an amazing backdrop to Christmas. Grateful to have witnessed this amazing bit of our natural environment.
