Pictured here is an abstract look at another of Long Island's east-end lighthouses -- The Orient Point Light. This lighthouse, also known locally as the "Coffee Pot", sits just off the eastern most point of L.I.'s North Fork.

The light is situated between Orient Point and Plum Island, and was originally constructed to help mariners navigate the waters of Plum Gut -- an inlet to the Long Island Sound. It's inaccessible to the public, but can be seen from both the beach at Orient Point and the cross sound ferry that shuttles between Orient Point and New London, CT.
