The title of this image inspired the composition and tonal palette of the image. Based on an inspirational short poem , ' She is Water ' continuing with the words ,' powerful enough to drown you ; soft enough to cleanse you ; powerful enough to save you.' It is part of a series of sunrise and sunset silhouette and symbolic ethereal images representing Womanhood , the Feminine and the freedom of embracing the Female Self. Modelled in the sea near my home ( in April , in Wales !!!) by my daughter it is also a tribute to her and her emergence into womanhood . The image was then enhanced in post processing using very basic lightroom tech on my old PC to intensify the natural colours of Sunrise in this image adding to the symbolism of a woman emerging into a new phase of her Female Self . Saturation of certain colours within the natural tones provided by Nature also intensified the contrast of the moving tide without any need to make further changes. A creative choice was made to leave the silhouette with faintly distinguishable features within a sunrise rose glow rather than altering to a full darkened silhouette adding to the ethereal and softer quality of the image and the impression of serenity and hope.
