Behind The Lens

Location

We met in my studio in Rijswijk, the Netherlands for various projects; playing with hair and colours was one of them

Time

As the light was controlled by the studio flashes, the time of the day was not so relevant.

Lighting

A single hard light with an orange gel was placed behind the model, a soft light without gels in front of her.

Equipment

This photo was taken with a Nikon D800 with a Nikkor 1.8 85 mm and a radio-trigger.

Inspiration

I just love hair...

Editing

The photo was only slightly touched (exposure, contrast...).

In my camera bag

It really depends on the shoot, but I believe the equipment is not that relevant. It's more what you do with what you have. I often shoot with a Nikon D800 with a Nikkor 85 mm. In my bag are also alternative lenses, spare batteries, model releases, triggers, cables, remote release.

Feedback

It's harder for the model than you think, be patient. Zu Ivanova (Model Mayhem # 4269747) did a great job! Play with different colours and the positions of the flashes. Be nice to your model and have fun!
