Location
I met up with model Michelle in my studio in Rijswijk, near The Hague, Netherlands. It is an ex-office floor (with all the charme and lack thereof), but it was the perfect place for the shoot.Time
The shot was taken in the evening after sunset; the studio cannot be darkenedLighting
For this shot, it needed to be dark. Several flashes fired at about 10 Hz during a long exposure.Equipment
The photo was taken with a Nikon D800 with a Tamron 70-200 mm lens, flashes were fired with a Godox Xpro radiotrigger in stroboscope mode. The model was at some distance in front of a black background.Inspiration
I love the idea of capturing what the eye does not see. Here is the visualisation of a movement, almost like a video in a photo.Editing
I changed exposure (globally and locally), crop, contrast. In my camera bag
My equipment differs depending on the shoot. In the studio I normally work with a Nikon D800, with a Nikon 85 mm 1,8, Tamron 24-70 mm 2.8 or a Tamron 70-200 mm.Feedback
Work in the dark with manual focus. Be nice to your model and have fun!
