Location
This was at a tree farm just outside of Portland, Oregon. It was a totally unplanned photo shoot. Saw the colour and the way the trees were perfectly lined up and had to take a couple of shots.Time
This was shot was taken around noon. It was a very grey October day with lots of cloud cover.Lighting
Nothing special about the lighting.Equipment
Nikon D750 with Tamron 15 - 30 wide angle at 24mm. Laid down on the ground to capture the leaves on the ground. Did not use a tripod but did use my elbows to brace the camera.Inspiration
The fabulous fall colours. The mix of yellow and red and of course those gorgeous red leaves that lay like a carpet on the ground.Editing
I always start my processing in Lightroom. Adjust the white and black point, level if necessary and play with the HSL a bit. This image had those steps done and then imported into Photo Shop for tidying up the leaves and trees using the patch tool. I then saved it back in Lightroom and played with red luminance to give the leaves a bit more glow.In my camera bag
I like to carry 3 lenses with me. One telephoto, one prime and one wide angle. I currently carry the Nikon 28 - 300, Nikon 105 macro and Tamron 15 - 30. Most of my shots are handheld but I do have a tripod nearby on most occasions.Feedback
The reason this image is different and a bit more captivating is because it was shot from down on the ground - giving a great foreground. Also I shot it at f22 so that the depth of field feels like it goes on forever.
