Location
This was taken at Heceta Head Bay Beach, just North of Florence, Oregon. The woman in the photo is taking a cell phone photo of the lighthouse up on the cliff.Time
It was late afternoon as I had gotten there early for sunset photos.Lighting
The muted sunlight cast a bit of gloom on the beach but the clouds had just enough definition to make some pretty decent reflections on the very low tide beach.Equipment
I took this with my Canon Powershot SX50, handheld at ISO80. The sand was liquified so using a tripod wasn't working well at all, forcing me to take all shots hand-held.Inspiration
She looked so tiny out there near the waterline and her silhouette was a perfect center for the mirror-image clouds and sky.Editing
I only upped the contrast and bit and possibly a little extra highlights to bring out more definition in the clouds. In my camera bag
I always have my camera, extra batteries, microfiber lens cloth, and at least one tripod.Feedback
I don't feel qualified to give advice since I'm a hobbyist photographer. I have no formal training. But, I will say, "Shoot anything and everything that catches your eye or captures your imagination. If you have a big memory card, always take more than one shot, if you can, to make sure you get exactly what you were hoping for."
