I took this shot when I was living in Daytona Neach, FL. A friend had given me a cutting and after a year it went into bloom.Time
This is one of theses shots that just popped out at me. At the time I was living on the water and one early morning I noticed this flower had emerged. It's was mid morning about 10:30 and the light coming thought the tree was perfect. I grabbed my camera and started shooting.Lighting
The day I shot this flower the light was perfect. Slight overcase day and the Rays of light just danced on the flowers. It's was like a big soft box lighting the whole area.Equipment
This was shout using my Nokon D30 with. 35 to 70mm lens. The shot was taken by just hand holding it and using 200 Asa ISO. Shutter speed was set at 250.Inspiration
As with shooting all my nature shots I just let the subject come to me. That day the lighting was perfect and this flower was just screaming to be taken. Color, light and the simplicity of the subject all came together at that one moment.Editing
Nothing special about any post processing of the shot. Some minor contast and sharpening, but otherwise just as it came out of the camera. In my camera bag
I really do not have a normal camera bag. When going out to shoot I try to take what I think I'm going to need that day. I have several Pelican cases filled with lenses, tape, clamps, wire, filters and an array of other things I might need. Many times I'll just take my camera and see what happens.Feedback
Always try to let the shot speek to me. Many times if you just look at the subject it will tell you what to do. A little fill card, a flash, use of a tripod all come to play if you let the subject guide you. Take your time and when I shoot I'll start from far away and slowly move closer to the subject until that majic moment comes and I click the shutter.
