Behind The Lens
Location
Letchworth State Park, along a path that runs parallel to the riverTime
The summertime, in late afternoon, probably around 4-5 pm.Lighting
It was outdoors so obviously all natural lighting, and the time of day was perfect. As well there was plenty of cloud coverage to help filter the light at times to soften it.Equipment
Just an old Canon T3 DSLR camera with the original lens and some settings adjusted. No flash, no tripod.Inspiration
I loved the scene it presented, the small waterfall emptying into the river with the bridge going over it, the hint of mountains rising on the side reflecting the gold of the sun beginning its long descent, flanked by the foliage, framed by the trees in the foreground. It seemed destined to be a photograph.Editing
Slight highlighting of the light on the hills, deepening of blues and greens, giving the water a bit more texture and clarityIn my camera bag

The only reason I got this photo was because we were on a family road trip with 4 kids including a special needs baby and we decided to just be spontaneous. Sometimes the most beautiful parts of your life will be 100% unplanned.
