Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from just in front of one of the two towers on Tower Bridge in London England

Time

It was taken on a summers evening just as the sun began to set over London, creating the very warming orange glow

Lighting

The long exposure at sunset helped to create the warm orange glow and the smooth stillness of the river Thames. It also helped to lighten certain parts of the picture whilst also capturing the lights from inside the buildings as day turned to night

Equipment

This was shot with a Canon EOS 600D with an EF-S10-18mm Canon lens at 12mm using my Manfrotto tripod due to the long exposure and camera remote to reduce any shake.

Inspiration

I love this part of London, it has so many great landmarks to shoot from different viewpoints. I regularly plan visits to try and capture sunset in different locations as you may have seen from my gallery.

Editing

I added some contrast to bring out some of the sunset and also some vignetting to focus on the middle of the shot where the sun is setting

In my camera bag

My bags fairly packed, i usually travel with my Canon EOS 600D with a few lenses. (EF-S10-18mm/EF-S 18-55/EF-S 55-250) . Ill also carry my lens cleaning kit, some filters (namely ND filters), a torch, camera charging units, portable phone charger, camera remote and my Manfrotto tripod.

Feedback

As always, be patient... don't give up on that shot you've been waiting for... don't settle...... and... be prepared... especially as the days are getting colder, make sure you have everything you need with you to stay out for a great shot
