I loved the metaphor of this photo. I put two, sweet sisters and paired them with a stormy sky. I feel as long as you have that one person in life, like a sister, standing by your side you can face any storm ahead of you.

Location
I took this photo on the edge of a small lake, nestled in northwestern New Jersey.Time
I met these adorable sisters at sunset so I could have the best natural, soft light possible.Lighting
By this point of the photoshoot I was nearing blue hour, so the lighting in general was very soft & minimal.Equipment
I used my Canon 60D & Sigma 35-70mm lens. I didn't use any off camera flash for this photoshoot, all the highlights & luminance added to this scene was done in post-processing.Inspiration
I instantly felt the bond & love these two sisters had for each other. I was then inspired by that emotion to create a photograph that would demenostrate the love these sisters have for each other & that they will always be by each other's side no matter what storms in life they may face.Editing
I always start in Lightroom to color balance & do a few other global adjustments. I then had taken the perfect stormy sky a few weeks prior and used photoshop to drop the sky in. I then did some dodging & burning through out the photo along with putting color into the sky to compliment the girls gowns. In my camera bag
I currently shoot with a Nikon D810 but always have my Canon 60D with me as a backup. I love my 70-200mm Nikor lens and carry that as well. I don't love editing out dust, so I always carry a camera cleaning kit. I also make sure to have various ND filters & UV filters in my bag.Feedback
My best advice is to use your imagination & do everything you can to make your vision come to life! You may need to learn some new skills to do it, but it will always push you to become a better photographer in the end.
