Behind The Lens
Location
I was at the San Diego Safari park on an outing to take animal pictures.Time
This picture was taken in mid morning as it was the only time that the lion cubs would be out in their enclosure. I made sure I was there for the lion cubs to be out and playing around.Lighting
The lighting in the enclosure at this time of day was tricky. There were areas of bright sunshine and areas with lot of shade. The sun was shining directly at the viewing area. I had to make sure I was in an area that the sun would not interfere with the shot.Equipment
This picture was shot with a Nikon 3200 with a Tamron 16-300 lens.Inspiration
I am in love with baby animals and they are curious about the world around them. This picture was taken as I waited for the animals to settle down to rest. The expression on the faces shows joy and happiness.Editing
The processing for this picture was relatively easy. I only needed to adjust the brightness and bring just a little contrast in the picture. In my camera bag
In my bag I usually have a Tamron 150-600, a Tokina f2.8 11-16mm, and a Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro lens. I also have a Nikon D7200 with a Tamron 18-400 lens. When needed depending on what I will be shooting I also will carry a Benro Tripod.Feedback
Be patient and keep you camera ready to take the shot. I have found that I keep my camera on continuous shutter and will take multiple shots of the same thing as one will be the picture I was looking for.
