Carnival in Cologne - so put the costume on and shout "Alaaf". The costume this year: Portos on the dark side of force.

Karneval in Köln - also rein ins Kostüm und laut Alaaf rufen. Vorher musste Portos allerdings noch ein kleines Shooting über sich ergehen lassen. Diesmal ging es auf die dunkle Seite der Macht.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at my little home studio with a black textile background.

Time

It was in the evening, but it's a studio portrait, so the time is not important.

Lighting

I use 3 simple lights. 2 lights with reflector screen from each side and one with a transparent white shield in front from the top.

Equipment

Camera: Sony a77II, Lens: Sony DT 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 SAM, 3 simple studio lights (under 50 Euros)

Inspiration

Carnival in Cologne, as people go dressed up on the street. That's what I wanted to do with my favorite model. I bought a dog star-wars costume.

Editing

The helm of the costume unfortunately did not fit, so I had to cut another with photoshop. The background was exchanged and the image changed with dodge & burn as well as lightspots.

Camera: Sony a77II, Miops Trigger Adapter (I love it to triggle the camera with the phone), Rollei C5i tripod, Lenses: Sony DT 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 SAM (Sony standard Lense), Sony DT 50mm F1.8 SA (for portraits), Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HS (wide.angle lense) and Tamron SP70-300 F/4-5.6 Di USD (for objects that are far away).
