Behind The Lens
Location
Colorado is known for its beauty and this pictures was taken at Hudson Gardens just south of Denver. The gardens offer a plethora of subjects to photograph, especially if you like macro photography. If you are ever in the area in the spring/summer/fall it is a great place to practice your skills of macro photography.Time
This picture was taken midday and as everyone who lives in Colorado knows, on one of the 300 plus sunny days we get every year.Lighting
The lighting was all natural, I can thank Colorado for that!Equipment
I was using my Canon SL1 camera with my new Canon 100mm Macro Lens. I know everyone says this but it was seriously the first picture I took not only in the session but with the lens period!!!Inspiration
As a society we rush around from work to home and from appointment to appointment, we hardly have time to tie our shoes or finish lunch. I love macro photography because it forces you to stop and take time to appreciate the world that we walk by in a rush everyday.Editing
Honestly, this was way at the beginning of my photography journey so I wasn't as adept to do post-production, I believe I changed the exposure and saturation a little. In my camera bag
I now have my Canon 5DS R with my 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens and Canon 100mm f/2.8 lens in my bag. Sometimes I rent a Canon wide-angle lens for events.Feedback
Be patient! Macro photography takes time and practice, I was extremely lucky with getting this one on the first shot, but I didn't know this would be the one that turned out, I took hundred of pictures of these bees that day.
