This photo was taken on the lake where our cottage is. I love to take advantage of any opportunity for a photgraph.Time
I took this photo about midday three years ago. It was an overcast day, but the fall colours were just popping. I thought the red of the sauna building would contrast well against the oranges and golds of the birch and poplar.Lighting
The dull, overcast day made the colours in this shot that much more vibrant. I don't think IO could of asked for better lighting than this to capture the true colours of fall.IEquipment
I captured this photo using my Canon 60D with my EF 18-200 mm lens, f/ 8.0. I typically use a tripod whenever I am shooting to get that extra crisp image.Inspiration
The brilliant colours of the fall foliage provided me with all the inspiration I needed. Our fall season is very short and if you aren't properly prepared, it will pass you by before you realize it.Editing
The only post-processing I did with this image was to increase the clarity and saturation using Lightroom. I also cropped the photo slightly. In my camera bag
My bag is always packed with my Canon 60D body and my two dependable lens - and Ef 18-200 mm & L 24-108mm. I also make sure that I have my Canon flash packed as well as a supply of spare rechargeable batteries and extra SD memory cards.Feedback
If I could say anything it would be to make sure you have your camera with you at all times as you never know what opportunities will present themselves.
