Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in a friend’s house in Rome (Italy).Time
The photo was taken in the afternoon. There was no direct light, but the purple color of the rose stood out against the white walls of the room.Lighting
I used indirect lighting from 2 windows of the room.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon, EF100mm f2,8L lens, a tripod Manfrotto. Nothing else was needed.Inspiration
There was a small vase on a table with only this rose and it caught my attention; I asked my friend and she explained that it was a rose given to her by one of her suitor.Editing
I only made small corrections in post-production, but as always the first step was in Lightroom, some changes like contrast and lights. After that, I went to Photoshop and used some luminosity masks for finishing. In my camera bag
Normally in my bag there are two Canon cameras, an all-rounder and a specific lens (which can be for a portrait or a landscape), filter holder, gray filter and filter, remote control, filter cleaning towels and of course a tripod.Feedback
I have no particular advice to give, other than photographing everything that attracts our attention, even if it may seem as trivial as a simple rose. A banal rose can be wonderful and take on different meanings from the subject itself in the viewer.
