Location
This photo was taken in my garden on a hibiscus bush in Northeast PennsylvaniaTime
MiddayLighting
I normally do not photograph in such bright sunlight, but for this particular subject, his out covering or armor was iridescent and I wanted to make sure I captured that aspect.Equipment
I used a Canon Rebel camera, and an 18-55 Macro lens 0.25m-0.8ft, in manual setting to allow me to really get close to this bug.Inspiration
My gardens provide a great place to use macro technique, so when I happened to spot this unusual looking bug I found his outer armor was so shimmery I had to take the time to photograph it!Editing
The only post processing I did was clarity adjustment to really hone the details of his shimmer. In my camera bag
Canon Rebel 3Ti, 18-55 mm macro lens, a 300mm zoom lens, an altura fisheye extension lens, and a altura super macro extension lens,an assortment of close up lenses ranging from +4-+10,58 mm UV and ND4 lensesFeedback
For this shot, lighting was the most important aspect, I waited until the sun was directly over the bug and it allowed me to capture its shimmery body and detail of his prehistoric looking armor
