Focused eyes and ears back. He doesn't seem ready to attack but he doesn't look really happy either.

Location
I took this photo of the Snow Leopard at the Central Park ZooTime
Early AfternoonLighting
dYes, the sun was beginning to set and I was able to get a warm glow blurred into the greens backgroundsEquipment
I used a Canon Rebel T3, 300 mm Zoom lensInspiration
I walked into the viewing area with my camera ready and this lion would not take his eyes off of me, he stayed extremely still and I was able to take the shot through fencingEditing
Just a little added contrast, but truthfully this was one of my first photos I took with my newly acquired equipment. In my camera bag
I usually carry my 75- 300 mm zoom, and my 18-55mm lenses, along with a 58 mm pro-mater filter, and I also have a 58 mm close-up kit which includes a close-up +1, +2, and +4 (also pro-master)Feedback
My personal experience has been to use manual focus at all times, I find I have better control of the subject as well as the background. Another thing that has improved my photography is to pay attention to lighting and time of day, it can make the biggest difference in the quality of your photo.
