Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Rome in July 2018. It was a nice sunset and I was standing with the tripod on the Umberto I bridge.

Time

It was at sunset around 9:30 pm

Lighting

The sunset was really dramatic and the colours were quite amazing.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D600 with my Nikon 28-300mm lens.

Inspiration

I saw similar spots on line and I was inspired by the beauty of the Vatican with the river Tiber in the foreground

Editing

I did some lens correction, I boosted the shadow and decreased the highlights. I applied some vibrance, increased the saturation of the reds and yellow.

In my camera bag

When I am traveling I always bring my 28-300 lens that It is good for the vast majority of shots. Other than that I always have a traveling tripod and a cable release.

Feedback

Go to the Umberto I bridge a little early, it is usually quite busy with many photographer. Wait for the sunset and start shooting. It is better if the night has some clouds to compliment the sky. In the summer it is usually better
