Between 3 and 4 a.m. on April 4th, 2015 the moon turned red as it passed through the earth's shadow, otherwise known as the lunar eclipse. The color of earth’s shadow is typically a reddish hue, depending mostly on the amount of volcanic ash and other aerosols in our stratosphere.

Thank you sergiogold for your very positive comment. Much appreciated.
Sorry FalconEyes Photography for the misunderstanding about what you were expecting as an entry in your "Manipulating Landscapes" challenge. According to the Collins dictionary "landscape" is defined as "everything you can see when hou look across a piece of land." Landscape is landscape whether it be here on earth, the moon, Jupiter, Mars or wherever, seen up close or as a distant ball with definable parts. For sure this is thinking outside the box approach, but I consider that be a strong positive not a negative. The photo was manipulated using both Photoshop and Lightroom to create the desired artistic arrangement that includes a source of light reflecting off one side of the moon in addition to the lunar landscape being cast in red due to its receiving reflected light off the earth bouncing back from the sun.
