Location
This photo was taken in London. City Hall or the Mayor of London's office. The building is an attractive building from the outside but once your inside it goes from being attractive to being amazing. The spiral staircase goes all the way to the top. A truly wonderful piece of architecture.Time
I was able to get inside this stunning building early one morning due to an event that opened its doors to the public.Lighting
The building is a glass building so the light is as good as it can be for an interior shot.Equipment
This photo was taken with the amazing Nikon Df, a really remarkable camera. A 17-35mm f2.8 lens attached to it as a fast wide angle is really needed when shooting interiors, and this is the best.Inspiration
Its a staircase that really takes your breathe away, not due to it being hard to climb but because its so well designed. The architecture in this building has to be the best I've ever seen.Editing
Normally shooting in monochrome there was no exception for this photo. The beautiful tomes and the smooth winding stairs just cry out for black and white treatment. In my camera bag
As i was on a open event weekend i didn't have too much with me. Specialising in extreme long exposure photography i always have a tripod, ND filters, remote, wide angle lens and of course a camera. This trip i had the small but steady Manfrotto Befree tripod, a Formatt Hitech 16 stop filter, Nikon 17-35mm and a 50mm prime lens and of course the Nikon Df,Feedback
If your lucky enough to get inside this building make sure you have a good wide angle lens with you so you can get as much of the spiral in as possible.
