Location
This photo was taken at Beachy Head in Sussex. A fantastic place, I'm looking forward to going back.Time
After a long day walking up and down the cliffs we got to Beachy Head late afternoon. The light was great and there was storm clouds closing in. Perfect.Lighting
It had been a nice bright day where we were but you could see a storm taking place not too far away. As the storm clouds came closer it created a great contrast in the sky, some amazing sum with stunning clouds.Equipment
The photo was a long exposure so i used my Nikon Df with a 20mm lens and a 16 stop filter all mounted on a tripod.Inspiration
Its such a wonderful spot and I've seen many great shots from here, but i wanted to do something better, something different. I had great conditions for it. I thought if i had a long enough exposure i could loose the horizon. I pretty much got it.Editing
Added some contrast and clarity to the amazing cliff and took some out of the sky and sea.In my camera bag
I always have at least 2 lenses with me, a wide angle and a prime. My travel tripod fits nicely in the bag too. Doing a lot of long exposures means i always have filters, extra batteries and it never hurts to cary spare memory cards.Feedback
You need a cloudy or foggy day to loose horizons, not easy to be but the right exposure will get it.
