Location
This is Santa Caterina del Sasso, an hermitage on Lake Maggiore, Italy.Time
It was about one hour before the sunset. I could not wait for it since the hermitage closes its doors at 5pm.Lighting
Just natural light here. My advice is to visit this place in the afternoon, when the sun shines on the facade of the hermitage.Equipment
I used a Sony a7S with a 24-70 mm lens, a tripod with a pano-head.Inspiration
It's a very famous place, I saw many pictures of it and I wanted to take one myself.Editing
Yes, indeed this is a panoramic shot. I took 4 shots and merged them with Lightroom. In my camera bag
I usually take my Sony A7s with a 24-70 mm lens and a 70-200 mm lens with me. Few accessories such as extra batteries and SD cards, a tripod and an eMotimo TB3 for timelapses.Feedback
Planning and timing is essential, in particular when you are travelling. You should plan your stops in advance, paying attention to the polar coordinates to predict the position of the sun on a specific spot. Search for other photographer's pictures of that place, try to determine the best framing and add something personal.
