Tried to vote "Genius." I apologize that the key slipped and it went to a generic award. This is my favorite!

Thanks for entering this amazing photo into my Night-Time Memories challenge. I've certainly added into the 'favorites' section. I've not been to Lake Como 'yet'!

Thanks for entering my "Night Time Memories" challenge. There were several shots that suited my eyes, but this one of yours would definitely created a memory for me had I been there, so you are my "Winner".

Gorgeous shot! My family came from Rocca San Giovanni in Chieti. Would love to visit Italy some day.

Location
I took this shot from Ossuccio on Lake Como.Time
It was about 11 pm, during the fireworks on the Comacina Island which occur every year on the last Saturday of June. This one was on 2013. It's the biggest event on Lake Como and many people come from all around the region. That's why I had to choose the right place where to seat about 5 hours before the fireworks.Lighting
I didn't use any artificial light, except the fireworks, of course!Equipment
I used a sturdy tripod and a 5D Mark II with a remote control.Inspiration
It was the first time I went to this event, but I perfectly knew what I wanted to frame. Lake Como is my home and I just needed to shoot my personal view of the San Giovanni Festival.Editing
I have my personal workflow which I respected for this shot. In lightrooom I used my own custum preset for the raw file, then I used Topaz Denoise to reduce noise, emulated a Fuji film in Photoshop with a LUT and custom graded a litttle bit more.In my camera bag
I usually take my Sony A7s with a 24-70 mm lens and a 70-200 mm lens with me. Few accessories such as extra batteries and SD cards, a tripod and an eMotimo TB3 for timelapses.Feedback
I think one of the most important thing when shooting landscapes is studying, scheduling and programming. You should imagine the shot, ask yourself what should my picture look like? Study the place, find the right spot on the internet or asking locals. Organize yourself with right equipment, don't forget anything. Timing is also essential. I usually arrive on the place where I want to shoot hours before to study the light and the framing. Also during event like this, you should reserve the best spot, so be the first!
