Brilliant in it's simplicity, yet intricate detail. The black lines of the subject on pure white backdrop is very artistic. It forced us to look only at the main subject. Skill level? 1000!

Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture in my flower garden one afternoon after recently acquiring a new macro lens.Time
I took this in the afternoon when the sun was hot..it seems the hotter it is the more dragonflies show up.Lighting
The lighting was all nature.Equipment
I used my trusty canon T1i and a canon macro 100mm lens..no tripod or flash.Inspiration
I was following all these dragonflies around the garden and missed many shots as they would fly away when I got close..this one posed nicely and almost stared me down as I shot.....Editing
I originally shot in color but on the advice of another photographer who was way above my amateur status,I changed it to black and white. In my camera bag
I have a canon T1i and T5i,a canon macro 100mm,canon 18-135,canon 75-300mm,canon 50mm and canon 18-55.I make use out of all the lenses..I prefer the T1i as the shots are less noisy than the T5i.Feedback
Patience.....I followed bugs around the yard for hours and had lots of nice shots but patiently waiting for the right moment sometimes pays off bigtime.
