Location
This photo was taken in the vicinity of Haikko Spa & Hotel near Porvoo, Finland.Time
I was pushing our baby in a baby carriage during his day nap. The time was a bit before 16, or 4 pm, when I saw this small forest of young birches on the other side of a meadow. What can you do, but aim towards the trees, pushing the carriage through the long grassed meadow to lay down on the ground to take the photo.Lighting
Pure afternoon daylight.Equipment
Olympus E-PL7 with Samyang fisheye lensInspiration
I've seen some tree canopy shots in Viewbug and thought it would be great to try to catch one like them. I've been looking for a good spot for about half a year, wherever I go. Now it seems I found a decent one.Editing
I did adjust some color values, sharpen and remove some lens distortion in a RAW plugin in Photoshop. No cropping or fancy magic, all adjustments were done to the whole picture. In my camera bag
Olympus E-PL7, 14-42mm pancake "tourist" lens, Samyang fisheye, Olympus 40-150mm zoom and circular polarization filter for that. Small tripod, about 15 cm tall. Sometimes also Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens, some darkening filters and extension tubes. I have a Lowepro AW 140 II bag, so It's quite full when going with full equipment.Feedback
Look up! And look for straight and dense groups of trees. Don't be afraid of the forest.
