Since we still don't have proper snow in Southern Finland, I need to shoot the occasional frost.

Location
This frost had formed on a log beside a path that runs through one of several children's playgrounds in Myllypuro, Helsinki.Time
I had been waiting for the freezing autumn mornings, when the moisture from the still warm sea spreads over the city and covers everything with a beautiful white frost. In 2018 we had couple of those days in the end of November. So, when I went to pick up a package from a local post office / grocery store, I took my camera with me. Just in case. The picture was taken a bit before 2 pm.Lighting
I tend to shoot in whatever light is available. That day the sky was covered with not too heavy clouds, so the light was bright, but very soft.Equipment
Olympus E-PL7 with 14-42mm pancake lens and some extension tube.Inspiration
I had just bought a couple of extension tubes, since I wanted to do some macro shooting. I had also waited for this kind of weather, so I just combined these two factors.Editing
Huge cropping, removing colors, doing some basic RAW adjustmentsIn my camera bag
Olympus E-PL7, 14-42 mm pancake, 40-150 mm zoom, 7,5mm fisheye, circular polar filter for the zoom, small extension tube, very small tripod.Feedback
Wait for the perfect weather. Get close to all surfaces to see what kind of structures are forming. Look around. Shoot a lot.
