Behind The Lens

Location

My wife's family has a typical Finnish summer cottage at this typical Finnish lake.

Time

It was a bit before 7pm and we were just starting to heat the grill for the dinner. When it is calm, you can easily hear the kids swimming across the lake, behind the small cape.

Lighting

Well, it is a typical Finnish afternoon summer sun. The sun sets in the southern Finland around 11pm, so we have a plenty of sunlight in the summer.

Equipment

Olympus E-PL7 with Samyang 7,5 mm fisheye. Handheld.

Inspiration

This location is a place of serenity and peace for us. When the weather is good, the crystal clear lake is really beautiful. I've taken hundreds of shots around here and I'll continue doing so, since this scenery soothes my soul.

Editing

Slight lens correction, straightening of horizon and a bit of contrast etc. Maybe some minimal cropping too.

In my camera bag

Olympus E-PL7, Olympus 14-150mm, Samyang 7,5mm fisheye, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, cirular polar and couple of other filters, small extension ring for macro.

Feedback

Keep your eyes open and try to get the horizon straight when shooting with fisheye. :D
