Aurora is most commonly referred to the northern lights. Literally though, the name refers to the morning light, and the origin goes back to the ancient Roman goddess of the dawn.

This is an early morning shot taken about a month ago at Cape Dolos (Governors Beach) in Cyprus. The morning light was just cracking on the horizon when I framed the shot, and I was hoping for some nice colours in the cloudy sky. For those interested in the technicalities, the shot was taken with Nikon D750 and Nikon 14-24 mm, at f-11 and ISO 100; exposure for 210 seconds using the 0.9 soft grad and the 6-stop ND filters by Lee. Some basic adjustments first in LR and then some tone enhancement in PS.
