Krios River springs in Mount Olympus (Chionistra) and flows south, crossing Platres village to the east. Through its route, a green valley is formed with unique flora, fauna and waterfalls. The water flow is continuous, with variations depending on weather conditions. The river runs towards to the delta of Kouris River, where the largest dam of Cyprus has been constructed in the 1980s.
Millomeris waterfall is located in the south-eastern region of Platres in Troodos Mountains, Cyprus; a 1 km nature trail leads to the waterfall. Water falls from a height of 15 meters and Millomeris is among the highest natural waterfalls of the island. Millomeris was not well known until the recent years, since its location was not accessible.
