Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in the countryside around my house in Settignano in the province of Florence on a sunny dayTime
The photo was taken at sunset time around 7PM on 05/31 2017 when the sun started to lose its strength and appeared between the branches of the forest.Lighting
I positioned father and mother so that the man's head could cover it partially so as not to burn the photo. I closed the aperture necessary to create the "star" effect that I love.Equipment
To make this photo I used my Nikon D5 equipped with a 70-200 lens. Iso 1,000; 1/640; f / 8; Spot detection; Focal 86. Free-hand shootingInspiration
The beauty and tenderness of the subjects (father and mother) and the desire to create a very tender and soft atmosphere that suits the expectation of a child. The father's kiss on the woman's belly with the sun illuminating their love, was the trigger for making this photo of great atmosphereEditing
At the post production level I developed the raw file by slightly increasing the darker shadows. I then applied a classic soft focus filter with Color Efex Pro4. Nothing more.In my camera bag
Normally in my bag are present: Nikon D5; Nikon D850; the Nikon triad composed of 14-24; 24-70 and 70-200. I often also take the 85 f / 1.4 with meFeedback
The only advice I can give is to try to adapt the type of photography to the subject you want to represent. The photo must excite and therefore creating situations suitable for the type of photo taken is the most important thing. On a technical level it is not a difficult shot. It's about being able to balance the strong sunlight coming into the lens using the plants behind the subject and the subject itself. Even shifts of a few centimeters of the camera create a profound difference between a well-made shot and a "burned" photo
