Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in New York on a cold December 2010 night

Time

It was taken around 10 pm on a cold and clear night in New York

Lighting

Night panorama with the lighting of the lights coming from the street and palaces

Equipment

At that time I used the Nikon D300S and was equipped with a 10mm Nikon. I just leaned on the balustrade to avoid the "move" by taking 1/13 with 3200 iso. I did not use a tripod.

Inspiration

The beauty of the landscape has certainly inspired this picture.

Editing

In post-production I have increased the sharpness and contrasts with Photoshop. In the end I gave more clarity even with "accent passage"

In my camera bag

Now in 2017 use: Nikon D5 and Nikon D850. The goals I always have with me are: 14-24; 24-70 and 70-200 over 105 macro and at 85 1.4. All Nikon. I also have other photographic targets that I bring with me in case of specific photos

Feedback

No special suggestion if there is no one to underestimate 1-2 stops in the night photos. It looks like an absurd thing but I find it very valid.
