You might like a road trip to Car City in White, Georgia. 30 acres of vehicles like this. Easy drive down I-75, just north of Atlanta. Nice shot! Love the black and white and the mood.

And I do love me a Dodge pick up! Mine is red, and back home in Texas.

Location
I work on a tree farm in Southern Alberta. It used to be a cattle farm way back and this is the old farm truck now tucked away in an overgrown caragana hedge.Time
This was taken in the late afternoon on a cloudy but bright day.Lighting
I love the filtered light that the hedge provided and being an overcast day resulted in no harsh sun spots. These conditions really brought out the details and patina of this gem.Equipment
I shot this with a Canon 6D and the versatile 24-105 zoom lens, handheld.Inspiration
I have wanted to take a photo of this truck since I started working on the farm 2 years ago but never had the time or owned professional camera at the time. I've been picturing the angle and composition for months before taking this photo, so when the perfect day came I already knew how to approach this shot.Editing
I used a preset B&W HDR filter from the Nik collection software. In my camera bag
My kit is still at the starter level seeing as I just started up again this spring after a 14 year hiatus. My Canon 6D with 24-105 zoom lens, my compact Manfrotto tripod and my recently acquired B&W 0.9 ND filter.Feedback
I don't want plagiarize what other photographers have said but I do think it's good to know what you want your shot to look like before you snap it. If it's something stationary like this old truck, buildings, other structures or even landscapes, take your time to plan the shot and then wait for the right opportunity and best light conditions. Sometimes you'll have to go back and shoot it again to get the right result.
