Location
The beach along Pallaranda, Queensland AustraliaTime
About 8pm, when the tide had gone out, I wanted to get the lights from the harbour in the backgroundLighting
I don't document what settings I use, I go through numerous settings to find one that works for me.Equipment
Canon 600D, and a cheap tripod. I'm very basic when it comes to my camera bag.Inspiration
The lagoon of water left from high tide was a happy accident. I did not expect it to turn out that way. I mostly used the beach location due to past mistakes of using grassier locations plus having a large body of water present provided some comfort knowing clumps of steel wool do fly awayEditing
I try to not to edit too much. But if I decide I need to, I use photoshop. I aim to get the shot I need when I'm shooting but with this image, I tweaked the brightness and contrast and "Bobs ya uncle"In my camera bag
My bag isn't anything to write home about. Just my Canon 600D with the short lens and the accompanying lenses which is 55-200Feedback
Keep an open mind. Experiment with creativity. Don't be so hard on yourself if the images don't work out to how you invisioned them to, just have as much fun as you can.
