Location
This photo was taken in a small city named Kitamoto north of Tokyo, Japan during one of my two trip in Japan last yearTime
It was shot at noon, on a sunny day. On a beautiful spring day.Lighting
The is 100% natural light, the sun was really bright and strong.Equipment
I used my Pentax k-50 with a great lens, D-Fa 100mm f2.8 Macro WR, it was one of the first time i used my new macro lens that was the day i felt in love with this lens.Inspiration
Bees is always an inspiring subject as they are really important for earth and are always working hard.It was also the time for cherry blossom so I was at the right place, at the right time !Editing
The post processing was pretty simple as the shot was almost like this picture, I cropped the picture, added some clarity, saturation and vibrance and changed the tone a little bit.In my camera bag
I mostly have only Pentax gear, my Pentax K-50, a SMC-DA 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 WR for landscape shot or all around lens, a cheat but really sharp prime lens SMC-DA 50mm f1.8 and my favorite the D-FA 100mm f2.8 Macro WR. I just got a metz 52 af-1 and this will be part of my daily bag. I almost always carry my tripod even if I'm not probably need it but we never know !Feedback
The advice i can give is that when spring come, run after the flower,be patient not only in term of second but days and even weeks and you will get great shot. If you want cherry blossom background the time for it is really limited, usually the peak last for a couple days only. If you want to do like me and fly 10 000 Km to japan and arrive in time for cherry blossom, look for the forecast and wish that it hold until you get there.Washington D.C. as also a great spot for cherry blossom and closer for most of us.
