Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken on the island of okinawa , Japan. This is the entrance of the last japanese bunker at the battle of Okinawa during World war II.

Time

It was shot in the morning but it didn't make any difference on the final product ;)

Lighting

The lighting was really misterious and kinda dark but the long exposure made it alive.

Equipment

The camera i used was a pentax k-50 with a 18-135mm lense and I didn't use a flash as i had my tripod to help catch all the light.

Inspiration

It's the kind of place where you can feel the emotions stock between the walls. It make you realize how life could have been hell for soldiers.

Editing

The post processing was easy, just tried to reproduce what i saw by increasing a little bit the saturation and played with the curves in lightroom.

In my camera bag

The equipment i always carry in my bag are my k-50 with mostly my 100mm f2.8macro lense, my 18-135mm f3.5 and a 50mm f1.8 lense. I also bring my metz 52 af-1 flash and a portable light diffuser.

Feedback

Travel a lot, explore area for spot that inspire you, shoot for yourself first and be more happy if people like it. You can spend a lifetime looking for THE shot while it was one step back the whole time.
