I know I'm late to the conversation: do you mind telling me a little bit about your process here: did you use focus stacking if so how many planes...also what post processing software do you prefer

Amazing composition! I love the vignette as well as the lighting toward the center of the frame. The purple lines bring the eye around the image in a way that gives crucial attention to all aspects. Well done!

Location
It was a beautiful week-end of the beginning of the summer, I decided to go and see the fields of lavender and sunflowers on the Valensole plateau in the South of France in Provence. A magnificent plateau or grown products of Provence. There are many tourists from all countries, particularly the week end and I went on a motorcycle it's so easier to stop and take pictures , the road is so narrow .Time
It was the end of the day and the sun began to go down. the colors were impressive, saturated and sweet at the same time. One felt the heat in the light. And lavender had its pretty purple color that says that it will soon cut to prepare the perfume and be distilled.Lighting
I really want to share this moment found in provence and make feel smells flowery through my image, the sweetness of life and the warmth of the moment. Make want the visitor to come ride on the small roads of this beautiful provencal country.Equipment
Canon 5 Mark II F7.1 1/160s iso 100 df 45mmmInspiration
This image is exactly what looks like this magnificent region of provence, what we have just look, the color, the tranquillity, smells. It makes me think about a day of happiness in a rich nature where all senses are awakened, eye, nose and the slight wind noise in the flowers. It is quiet and romantic location away from the crowds and noise.Editing
There is a post processing on lightroom only work to straighten and crop the picture. Then balancing of light and saturation. Decrease of exposure in general then touches to the brush using a little more exposure on certain area.In my camera bag
Most of time I take only my camera, 2 batteries and a light bag . A heavy bag is always a problem if you have to walk a lot .I take also my compact flash in spare.I only carried a tripod if necessary.,and another camera lens if I think I need it .I also have a wide angle , but I do not use it for the scenery, I think that too flattened image except of course in some cases.I still also have a notebook and a pen to take notes .I usually let my battery charger in the hotel , my extra batteries enough for the day. The goal , always limit the weight because of my back problem , if I walk too long with too heavy material it spoils my pleasure to photo.Il the need to feel free and comfortable to make good pictures. I still also have a small compact in spare in case of failure .Feedback
Lavender picking obeys precise climate rules. It depends on humidity, i.e. moisture from the air. Clearly, a long period without rain may advance the harvest of a few days, while a storm can delay it all. However there are the color purple lavender only to the period during which it is necessary to harvest, the most difficult to make this type of picture and arrive at the right time. Too soon, lavender's Green, too late, it is switched off. Then it is just a matter of feeling and framing.
