Thanks so much for your comment. I wish I could see frogs like this more often. Got this one at a butterfly conservatory.

I like this cute little fella just as much as everyone else, but can you tell a little more about it? Is it poisonous? Its REALLY adorable and this picture is just perfect!

Thanks for your comment. These red eyed tree frogs are not poisonous and they can be found for sale in pet stores. It's the poison dart frogs that yo'd have to watch out for.

Location
I took this picture at Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory in South Deerfield, MA.Time
I took this image inside the conservatory, so the light is diffused. It was taken in the morning before the place got too crowded. I had a friend who worked there, so she took this little red-eyed tree frog out of its cage and placed him on a plant so I could get a few quick shots. He sat there for a minute, but then jumped, so I had to work fast and shoot a few pictures quickly, hoping for the best.Lighting
As mentioned in the last answer, it was diffused lighting from being inside the conservatory. Some indoor butterfly places let you use a flash, and other places do not.Equipment
I used my Nikon D800, with a 105mm Nikkor lens. No flash was fired and it was hand held. For shooting the butterflies, I did use my SB800 flash with a diffuser, but it wasn't used on this frog picture.Inspiration
With long, sometimes dreary winters, I often make a trip to the butterfly conservatory. I love frogs, lizards and butterflies, so going on a trip to the conservatory usually happens about once a year. On this day my friend was working so she took out this frog to me. I love their colorful bodies, especially the blues and purples underneath which are hidden if the frog is on a leaf, or pulling itself in tightly on a piece of glass (side of the terrarium).Editing
I do use Camera Raw and Photoshop to edit my images. I also use Nik plug-ins in PS to edit my images. In my camera bag
I love to travel light, so I usually just take what I think I'll need for a day trip. Camera, a lens or 2 and an extra battery and card. I have switched to a Sony mirrorless camera for general shooting, but still have my Nikons for wildlife shooting as well as for using my macro lens.Feedback
Be prepared before the animal comes out because they can move fast. Get your shutter speed, ISO, and brightness set. Being indoors with not so bright light, I had to bump up the ISO to get it bright enough. Remember that people only see your good work that you post, and they don't see all the similar ones that didn't make the cut, due to all the factors that can affect the image.
