Location
This photo was taken behind my house located in a residential community called Country Place in Carrollton, Texas. This is Fran's lake which is stocked with fish for catch and release.Time
This picture was taken in the evening around 9 p.m.Lighting
The lighting here is so magical in the evenings. I love the bright lights emitting from the fountains and lamp posts surround the lake. You can also see residential lights from across the lake. My Pixel 6 Pro camera works really well in the dark, if I use the night vision setting.Equipment
I used my Pixel 6 Pro Android phone made by Google.Inspiration
I retired last year and was looking for a new hobby. I have always enjoyed taking pictures and thought about experimenting with shots around the community that I live in. One evening I walked outside and noticed how beautiful the lake looked and decided to take a picture of it. This is the photo that really inspired me to pursue street photography and to become fully vested in the Viewbug's social media platform. This marks the beginning of my newest passion and journey into amateur photography.Editing
There were no filters added. It was picture perfect in my opinion and did not need any additional editing. In my camera bag
I carry my Nikon Z-50 camera with an assortment of lenses. My latest addition was a macro lens for close-up shots. I purchased a backpack designed for photography, which has worked out really well. The extra padding and individual compartments prevent damage to the lenses as they are transported to different locations. I also carry lens cleaner, small tripods, and introduction cards to pass out when taking pictures of someone's pet or writing reviews for Google, as a Local Guide. My Pixel 6 Pro Android camera phone is usually in my hand or carried in my back pocket while exploring new areas to take pictures of that I find interesting.Feedback
Sometimes the best photo opportunities are in your own backyard. You don't have to travel the world to take great pictures. Each region has something different to offer and can be interesting to someone living in another country or state. To take the first step, just step outside and discover places that you have never been to. I have found so many unique places that I never knew existed, right in my own city. Sometimes, I get in the car and just drive around until I find something interesting to shoot or pre-plan by researching on the internet- surrounding parks, tourist attractions, or special events that might provide great opportunities for a street photographer like me.
