There's always something going on at Seattle's waterfront. A number of years ago as I was walking around this very area, I noticed a lot of refrigeration piping along the street. I asked one of the builders what was up with the refrigeration and he told me that they had built a seawall made of ice several feet thick to hold back the seawater and enable them to tear down and rebuild the old seawall. After the new seawall was built, the one made from ice is left to melt away.
