Behind The Lens

Location

Taken at Ephata Cloister, PA this Fall. I have always been inspired by historic places and beautiful fall foliage.

Time

This photo was taken early morning, so the sun was low and cast long shadows across the grass and on the buildings. The low sun also lite up the trees and brought out their dramatic colors.

Lighting

Low early morning light added to the drama and strong colors to this image.

Equipment

I used a Canon R with a 35mm lens handheld.

Inspiration

I knew well the amazing buildings at Ephata Cloister and caught the fall foliage there at its' peak.

Editing

I normally use Lightroom and Photoshop. I used them to bring out the colors present in this image.

In my camera bag

I have a camera, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm lenses, a flash, extra batteries, and SD cards.

Feedback

Think of some amazing old architecture near you, and try to combine it with the kind of background and sky that will enhance it.
