Real Life Candid Storytelling Nature Landscape Photography. Taken at the cliff edge of South Stack , the cliff base where Holyhead Mountain meets the sea on the Isle of Anglesey , North Wales , UK. This is an image of Freedom on many levels. Not just a photograph of the feeling of freedom that we attain from our relationship with nature and the land , but a real life snapshot of human freedom. The girl taking the chance to walk down the cliffs was actually on her first trip out with some new friends after entering Britain from Afghanistan. Her and her friends families had been brought to the UK because members of their families had helped the US and UK Forces under the previous regime and would now be in potential danger living under the new order. I had been packing up at the end of a day photographing cliff faces and rock formations and noticed that this would make an interesting landscape composition because of the leading lines of the rock and the soft natural light if taken from my lower POV on the adjacent cliff edge steps. Luckily , I still had my Nikkor AF-P 70-300mm lens attached to my D3500 and it could just attain the right amount of zoom to get the candid intimate scene that i wanted to achieve. I found out the girls story later as is my photgraphers code I always get permission if possible to use the photographs I take including people depending on the circumstances they were taken , and especially for people of a certain age or whose culture and religion would mean my photographing of them may be disrespectful.
