Sun was casting an orange glow on the water as these two ducks landed and began swimming around each other. Black-bellied whistling ducks, sometimes called tree ducks, like to nest in trees (they also like nest boxes, such as those put out for owls") near water. The poor hatchlings, not yet able to fly, must simply jump to the ground and hope for a safe landing before the parents herd them into a line and lead them to water.
