Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at a nature and recreational area known as Sunset Lake in Portland, Texas.Time
Late afternoon as the sun was setting.Lighting
Natural sunlight.Equipment
Nikon D3000 with Nikkor 55-200 lens and a pair of cheap polarized sunglasses.Inspiration
I had been watching the cloud as it changed shapes with the wind and had already taken a series of shots when the sun dropped behind the cloud and began changing to the golden orange sunset hues. I took off my polarized sunglasses to try and focus better, but could not really look directly at the subject due to the brightness. I realized that the colors were more amazing when I was wearing the sunglasses, so I then held them in front of my camera lens and snapped the shot.Editing
I did a little enhancement to the color and contrast, but minimal. In my camera bag
I do most of my photography outdoors so my bag includes the camera, lenses, extra charged battery, plastic garbage bag, handy wipes, soft cloth and minor first aid items.Feedback
