Location
This photo was taken in Montell, Texas which is located in the scenic Texas Hill Country.Time
This was taken at mid-morning as I was taking a walk and looking for potential photo subjects.Lighting
All natural lighting. Sun was bright.Equipment
Nikon D7100 with Nikkor 18-300mm DX lens attached. Handheld. Nearly all my photography is done handheld.Inspiration
The light caught the flashy red color as I walked by and I saw this little ladybug crawling around the spiny head of a thistle bud. I'm always intrigued by different things in nature and try to capture them as honestly as possible with my camera.Editing
I use Photoshop Elements for any post-processing. For this I adjusted the brightness and contrast to make up for the bright sunlight and cropped for a better composition. In my camera bag
Nikon D7100 and Nikkor lenses. My current go-to lens is the 18-300 mm because it is handy in the field for nature shots and lightweight enough to carry for long periods of time.Feedback
Spend as much time outdoors as possible and keep your eyes open to the beauty of nature in unexpected places.
